I have a delicious and pretty tartine recipe for you today. A tartine is simply a European style open face sandwich topped with different goodies. From butter and salame to vegetables and spreads.Kind of like bruschetta and crostini. They are definitely my most favorite kind of sandwich because of course it reminds me of childhood days.
I remember platters of different kinds of tartine recipes showing up at pretty much any birthday party and even weddings.
They are very easy to make even for kids, and they can be very creative as there isn’t one specific recipe, whatever your taste buds crave that day: from different kinds of bread to the toppings, much like decorating your own little pizza.
Whenever I roast peppers at the shack I make a bowl of this Olive and Roasted Pepper Spread to have in the fridge for the week. It’s great on grilled meats or even pasta, and lately I’ve been making this pretty tartine recipe for lunch. A sprinkle of edible flower petals, herbs and spicy red chile. It’s amazing what a couple of ingredients can do together. I swear I could eat like this every day, guilt free and nutritious.
Try them for your next dinner party and let me know how it went. I bet you won’t have any leftovers, this tartine recipe is a real keeper.
